HATYAI MUNICIPAL PARK, HATYAI, THAILAND
September 02, 2016
We booked a one day tour from our hostel. We get to choose 5 destinations that we wanted to visit. the first one that we went on this one day tour was Hatyai Municipal Park. We woke up early in the morning, got dressed and we waited for our driver to arrive. At first I thought that Eddie, the owner of the hostel would arrange a Tuk tuk trip for us to discover Hatyai. We were very thankful when we saw a cab arriving in front of the hostel. It was very comfortable to travel with a cab. Cheap! As I had mentioned in my previous blog post before. It is not advisable to use a tuk tuk to travel for long distance journey. So yeah. Thank God.
Hat Yai City Municipal Park is located in Hat Yai district in Songkhla. There are several highlights within the Park:
1.Hat Yai Science and Astronomy Center (Astronomical Observatory)
2.The monument of King Rama V
3.Brahman Shrine
4.God Statues
5.Statue of Guan-yin
6.Phra Buddha MongkolMaharaj
7.Hat Yai Ice Dome *It was closed!*
8.Hat Yai Cable Car
Most importantly, the entrance fee to the Hatyai Municipal Park is FREE! You get to see the amazing view free of charge. Who doesn't like that? So it's a must to visit the park.
Visiting Guanyin Temple.
At the rooftop of the Guanyin temple.
Guanyin statue.
We didn't realised that there's one more spot to see the nice panoramic view of Hatyai city after we saw this standing Buddha statue at the hill. We were excited to walk up there. We couldn't find the way to the top because there's no signage. Thus, we just followed the crowd.
View from the Guanyin temple.
Serendipity.
Make memories we knew would never fade!
After strolling around the Guanyin temple, we found the entrance to reach the standing buddha statue. However, it was still a long way to climb up to reach the peak. Lol.
Writing wishes on the wind chimes.
Pretty excited to see our zodiac.
Continued to walk.
Smiling buddha.
Oh God, still a long way to go actually! We spent two hours at the Hatyai Municipal Park.
Up and up. Don't give up.
We stopped for a while to take photographs. These stairs were nice!
Personally I love this pic the most. We looked like we were in a movie. *You can't sit with us* Lol. |
Finally we reached the top after almost 20 minutes' struggling to get up there. What a view! Really worth the climb.
Live while we're young. The view was breathtaking!
The standing buddha that we saw from the Guanyin temple.
Many devotees were praying for blessings.
When we reached the top, it started to rain heavily. We knew we could not make it to go back to the Guanyin temple and the stairs were slippery. Luckily we found a shelter. Lol. A coffee shop! Immediately, we dashed to the coffee shop. We even planned to take a cable car ride to get down from the hill. It was kinda pricey and we gave up on the thought.
We were stranded in this coffee shop because it was raining outside. So we ended up having cups of coffee here.
Sipping our cups of coffee while enjoying the panoramic view of Hatyai city..Hmm~ this is life.
My California girls~
Chilling.
A very nice coffee shop, with a nice view overlooking the Hatyai city, with nice coffee, with nice weather and with nice friends. Everything was nice and I wish to stay a little longer.
Every corner of this shop is picture perfect!
Lastly, let's end this post with 'Whatever you do, do it with your heart and soul~'
