KEK LOK SI TEMPLE, PENANG

September 28, 2019

One of the places we went on our day 3 of our Penang trip was Kek Lok Si temple. This was one of the nicest temple in Malaysia. We had to climb up some stairs to reach the temple. The last time I visited this temple was when I was 12 years old. There were not many changes of the temple, some areas of the temple were under renovation when we were there. Oh yeah, the souvenir shop was still there but I couldn't find the guy who carve name on rice grain. When you come to Penang and you want to buy cheap cheap souvenirs then this place is for you!!!! This is the second place that I can find cheaper souvenirs. Trust me. When I say the souvenirs are cheap, they're real cheap and with good qualities. The cheapest souvenir shop is located at Batu Ferringi.

Entrance to this temple is free but we had to pay RM5 to enter the Pagoda area. You can get a nice view from the pagoda. Worth all the sweat when you get to the top of the pagoda and look at the amazing view.

For you information, you can donate money to the temple. They will use the money to renovate the temple. For example, you can donate a certain amount of money for a roof tile and they will carve your name on the tile.

Look at all these bottle gourds! So cute.

After that we went to had our lunch before we drove to Taiping. I was so happy that I found a Char Keuy Teow stall !!!! I was like finally I got the chance to taste the Penang Char Keuy Teow. We had been searching Char Keuy Teow for the past few days but it's so weird that all Char Keuy Teow stalls were closed when I really craved for it. Hmmm.. so satisfied! Char Keuy Teow with salted egg. Heaven.
